Your order will be accepted and the creation of a legally binding contract between you and us will take place once the goods have been despatched or collected.

Online orders must be paid for before dispatch. Orders can be paid for via Paypal or Stripe.
Orders can be made on the website at anytime. Processing of orders will be undertaken on ‘working days’ which are defined as 9am to 5pm, Monday to Friday, excluding public holidays.
Details specific to carved products
William Barsley is a woodcarving company selling carved products to the public via our website and by liaising directly with the client.
All orders are subject to availability. If a product is out of stock, this will normally be indicated on the website.
Colour disclaimer
Due to variations in computer monitors and web browsers, colour reproduction on the internet is not precise. Colours seen on screen may vary slightly to the colour of the physical product. Please consider both product image and description and if you are unsure, email us via the contact page before buying. By purchasing, you are agreeing that you have read, understood and agreed to these Terms. We do not accept returns due to colour variances.
Sizes disclaimer
Sizes and weights shown are approximate.
Product delivery terms and timelines
Delivery for the ‘Hop Wreath’ is free within mainland UK. All other deliveries, and any deliveries outside mainland UK, will be quoted for separately. We suggest that you contact us prior to purchase to find out these delivery costs, which will be in addition to the product price listed on our website.
We aim to process all online orders as quickly as possible. For the Hop Weath, due to its size and the nature of handmade items, please allow approximately 4 weeks for carving and dispatch. This is shown in the product description and, by agreeing to purchase this product, you agree to this timescale. We will inform you if there is any delay and hold the right for these products to take longer to make.
We shall arrange for delivery of the products you purchase to be sent to the address you specified during the checkout process.
If an item looks damaged then it should be refused. Do not sign for damaged boxes. Failure to follow these instructions could mean that you end up with a damaged item and be unable to claim for them. The signature box that the driver will be asking you to sign confirms that you are happy with the condition. Please mark it as damaged package if there is any sign of damage to the outer packaging at all. Goods should always be checked in front of the delivery representative. Faulty goods must be notified within 24 hours of receipt.
All delivery dates and times quoted are approximate as we use third-party courier companies. While we make every effort to accommodate customer requests, no guarantee of delivery time can be given.
Returns of carved products
If you are unhappy with any product purchased from us we will accept returns at your own cost within 14 days of purchase, unless they are damaged, in which case we will refund postage costs.
If William Barsley accepts a return, it is the responsibility of the customer to return the goods back to us “as new”. Returns should be sent to: Unit 4 Webbers Yard Industrial Estate, Shinners Bridge, Dartington, Devon, TQ9 6JY. It is recommended you keep the original packing/boxes that your product arrived in. We cannot accept a return if the Hop Wreath is not safely and securely packed.
Refund/cancellation of carved products
In the unlikely event that we cannot replace or repair a damaged or faulty product, or if you have placed an order that we are unable to fulfill, refunds will be processed in one of the following ways:
- For PayPal payments, the refund will be made directly into your PayPal account.
In exchange for returned goods, William Barsley will issue a refund with 30 days of receipt of return.
Details specific to carved woodcarving courses
William Barsley runs woodcarving courses, which are available to purchase online via https://williambarsley.corsizio.com/. This course page is updated regularly as is the platform through which courses are booked and payments are made.
Age restriction
There is an age restriction of 16+ for most of our courses due to the sharp tools used. Two-hour courses can be booked for ages 12-16 if accompanied by a parent or guardian who will take full responsibility for the safety of the child throughout the course and ensure they follow instructions carefully. If the parent or guardian would like to take part in the course too (rather than simply accompany the child and watch), please make sure to book an additional place.
Liability during courses
Course participants will be given a full health and safety briefing at the beginning of the course. Participants attending the course do so knowing that the activities undertaken have inherent hazards associated with them. Whilst the instructor takes all necessary precautions to try and ensure the safety of all participants, accidents may occur in consequence. Students must familiarise themselves with the hazards and are expected to comply with the instructor’s health and safety guidelines.
I understand that William Barsley accepts no responsibility whatsoever for any loss or injury resulting from any persons involved in the activities who fail to comply with the health and safety guidance given by the instructor during the course.
Cancellation of courses
A full refund for courses can be claimed up to four weeks before the course start date. Between two and four weeks before the start date, a 70% refund is available, or you may change the date of your booking free of charge. After two weeks, no refund is available but, again, you may change the date of your booking free of charge.
William Barsley maintains the right to cancel the course at any time. If this happens, you will be offered a full refund of the change to change the date of your booking.
When making a booking more than four weeks before the course start date, you will have the option to pay a 30% deposit upfront, with the balance due a maximum of two weeks before the course start date.
Minimum participation
All of our group courses require a minimum of three participants in order to run. If this minimum is not met, we will contact you two weeks in advance to discuss options such as alternative dates or a full refund.
